Latte Stone Park

We recently took a trip to visit Latte Stone Park. The ancient Chamorro used to build their houses up on top of the latte stones to protect against flooding. These are some of the larger stones that were found on the island and brought to the capital for display.

Here is a smaller latte stone in a different park. Apparently the size of the latte stones on your house was a status symbol. The leaders had larger latte stones like those found in the pictures above.
Also in Latte Stone Park is an old bomb shelter. Interesting.
